Rich Riley is Executive Vice President of Yahoo! Americas, where he oversees all go-to-market activities and operations for consumers, advertisers and partners in the region.
Rich joined Yahoo! in 1999, when the company acquired the start-up he founded, which invented the Yahoo! Toolbar. Over more than 13 years at Yahoo!, Rich progressed through increasingly senior roles in the US, before moving to Europe to transform Yahoo!’s EMEA business in 2009 as Senior Vice President & Managing Director. Rich led the turnaround of Yahoo!’s weakest region; under his leadership EMEA made significant progress, gained market share and grew both reach and revenue. In April 2012, he was promoted to Executive Vice President for the Americas by Chief Executive Officer, Scott Thompson.
Rich graduated from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania with a B.S. in Economics with Majors
in Finance & Entrepreneurial Management. He began his career as an investment banker at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette in New York City.
Rich now serves on the Wharton Entrepreneurial Advisory Board, the Board of Swiss-American Chamber of Commerce, the Mayor of Rome’s International Business Advisory Council and is a Member of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO). In October 2011, Rich was named “
One to Watch" in Fortune magazine’s Forty under Forty feature; according to Fortune, those listed are ‘the hottest young stars in business across the globe.’
He lives in Connecticut and is married with four children.
